GAP

AIDA NC1 Single Point Gap Frame Press

Like all AIDA NC-series gap frame presses, the NC1 Single Point Gap Frame Press uses a welded steel frame, cast iron slide, and over-sized cast steel bolsters. This enables the press to deliver angular frame deflection that can be as little as 1/3 of competitive models, ensuring longer die life and higher part quality.

The wet clutch (standard) is immune to heat build up and its detrimental effects on performance that plague air friction clutches. And a wet clutch virtually lasts forever with minimal maintenance and can provide up to four times the single trip cycles per minute of an air friction clutch.

AIDA’s Hydraulic Overload Protection System (HOLP) provides the industry’s fastest response time, adjustable trip level, and an “unstick” switch that frees a slide that is “stuck” on bottom in a matter of seconds to minimize downtime.

The advanced control system brings a level of flexibility unheard of in the category. Add a six-point slide guide system and 25 other features and the result is a gap frame press that dramatically limits factors that can shorten die life.

The AIDA DSF-N2 Servo Press uses AIDA’s High torque, low RPM servo motors.

AIDA’s direct drive offers the same stroke length and torque rating as a conventional mechanical press while allowing full torque to be used at as little as five strokes a minute.

Competitive systems that use low torque motors and complex drive systems cannot match the performance of AIDA’s high torque, low RPM servo motor.

Because capacitors store power in the non-working portion of the stroke, power consumption is comparable to that of a mechanical press.

The AIDA NS2 has a unitized straightside frame for minimal frame elongation (up to NS2-2500, NS2-3000 frame assembly construction tightened by tie rod).

A forced circulation lubrication system, introduced to the crank bearings and the slide guides, improves Bottom Dead Center repeatability – by minimizing thermal expansion of the frame. Higher productivity is achieved with an increased maximum SPM of 10%.

DESIGN – The design of the HERA is the result of detailed examination of every component of the press. All parts are designed and manufactured using modern computer aided systems. The principal parts are verified by Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

FRAME – All HERA presses are manufactured from a single fabrication of welded and normalized steel; with large end openings. To keep the overall dimensions to the minimum, the hydraulic, lubrication and pneumatic systems are integrated into the Frame.

GUARDING – The press is equipped with automatic rising screen guards in the die area. The guarding is according to EC regulations. Upon request, guards can be provided with sound-absorbent materials.

DRIVE – The main drive motor is variable speed, controlled by inverter. Other drive motors are available upon request.

Larger presses are made in four pieces shrunk together with tie-rods. The tie rod pre-load is applied with hydraulic nuts. Series 2MR presses can be customised in many ways; they have large end windows, and flat surfaces for the fixing of transfer mechanisms, motorized loading arms, coil feeders etc.

Features & Benefits

DESIGN – The design is the result of detailed examination of every component of the press. All parts are designed and manufactured using modern computer aided systems. The principal parts are verified by Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

FRAME – The structure is made entirely of welded and normalized steel. Where practical for transport, Series 2MR presses are manufactured from a single fabrication. Larger presses are made in four pieces shrunk together with tie-rods. The tie rod pre-load is applied with hydraulic nuts. Series 2MR presses can be customised in many ways; they have large end windows, and flat surfaces for the fixing of transfer mechanisms, motorized loading arms, coil feeders etc.

GUARDING – The press is equipped with automatic rising screen guards in the die area. The guarding is according to EC regulations. Upon request, guards can be provided with sound-absorbent materials.

DRIVE – The main drive motor is variable speed, controlled by inverter. Other drive motors are available upon request.

FLYWHEEL – Air-cooled clutch/brake unit with a low moment of inertia.

KINEMATICS – According to the specification, the crown can be fitted with a left to right shaft or front to back shafts:

  • Link-drive optimized for deep drawing operations
  • Speed-link for shearing and blanking operations

LUBRICATION SYSTEM – A progressive centralized recirculating system is used, fitted with filters, feedback switches and fillup point.

SLIDE – The slide is made of welded and normalized steel, with eight point gibs. The gibs can be adjusted in all directions. The adjustment of the slide is by electric motor.

OVERLOAD PROTECTION – Adjustable Overload Protection by a hydraulic system.

DIE CUSHIONS – Many specifications of die cushions can be fitted according to the application

The S1-E Series Heavy Stamping Press from AIDA expands the range of high-accuracy, heavy stamping by achieving three important elements in the stamping of thick plate:

 Extends the die life

 Reduces vibration and noise

 Maintains high accuracy and high productivity

Long, eight-point slide guides and highly rigid frame construction assures high dynamic accuracy, this maintaining long die life. A special link motion mechanism provides optimum slide velocity which assures consistent product quality, and greatly reduces vibration and noise. Because of reduced clearance, the punch will not plunge into the die cavity as much as in conventional presses which results in quieter press performance, minimized vibration and extended die life. The AIDA Hydraulic Overload Protector (HOLP) operates instantaneously to protect the die and the press should overloading occur. By incorporating the die cushion within the bed, the press pit becomes unnecessary. This can greatly reduce foundation costs and facilitate press room layout changes.

AIDA’s direct drive offers the same stroke length and torque rating as a conventional mechanical press while allowing full torque to be used at as little as five strokes a minute.
